In this study we performed high throughput microfluidic qPCR using BioMark on RNA extracted from 5 organs (adrenal gland, kidney, liver, lung, and spleen) at 5 different time points throughout the development of hypertension (8, 10, 12, 16, and 24 weeks) in Spontaneously Hypertensive Rats (SHR) as compared to Wistar-Kyoto (WKY) control in female subjects (n=3). Overall design: High throughput microfluidic qPCR using BioMark was performed on RNA extracted from 5 organs at 5 different time points throughout the development of hypertension (n=3). Two 96 x 96 BioMark Arrays were used to assay expression of 92 genes. A serial dilution gene set was included in each chip to confirm reproducibility. Technical replicates were run on each chip to evaluate technical variability.
