Reef-building corals face increasing threats from climate change and habitat alteration. This study deciphers how the coral Stylophora pistillata adjusts its transcriptome in controlled artificial systems versus natural seawater tanks. We identified differentially expressed genes (DEGs), including upregulated stress-response regulators (e.g., HSP70, SOD) and downregulated symbiosis related factors in artificial environments. These molecular signatures correlate with observable phenotypic shifts in coral health. The findings establish a framework for optimizing artificial reef systems and provide biomarkers for coral resilience in conservation programs.
