The 0.01° spatial resolution near-surface air temperature dataset over the Tibetan Plateau (1979–2018) is derived via downscaling the 0.1° spatial resolution air temperature data from the China Regional Land Surface Meteorological Forcing Dataset. It contains daily mean air temperature and 3-hourly instantaneous air temperature, with a spatial resolution of 0.01° (approximately 1 km), temporal coverage from 1979 to 2018, and spatial extent of 73°E–106°E, 23°N–40°N. This dataset can provide high-spatial-resolution near-surface air temperature data for research and applications in fields including surface radiation and energy balance, climate change, hydrometeorology and related disciplines.
