FIELD: woodworking industry. SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to log processing. Log handling device comprises transportation means， a splitting device comprising two splitting head assemblies and a saw assembly， which comprises at least two circular saw blades. Circular saw blades are arranged up to splitting device in log transportation direction. In the device the splitting head assemblies are installed on different shafts， unlike the circular saw blades. Circular saw blades are arranged in the same place in the direction of the log width as the inner ends of the splitting head assemblies， i.e. ends， facing the log central part. Circular saw blades are designed for， before splitting， partial cutting of log parts from log， which are to be splitted with the help of splitting heads units. Units of splitting heads are made with head saw blades for splitting， separation of logs of parts to be splitted. EFFECT: higher quality of sawing surface. 14 cl， 2 dwg
