To evaluate the impact of Muc17 deletion on other major intestinal mucins, we employed proteomic analysis of isolated Si5 epithelial cells fromMuc17fl/fl and Muc17∆IEC cohoused littermates. Deletion of Muc17 did not result in a compensatory change in the abundance of the gel-forming mucin Muc2 and membrane mucin Muc13.
