European Erosion Risk Atlas for Wind Turbines

This repo contains the European Erosion Risk Atlas tool that was developed under the scope of the AIRE project.The atlas should be used qualitatively, as the exact erosion onset time depends on many factors that are not all considered in this work.Meteorological information was obtained from the mesoscale WRF model, while damage estimates were computed using blade damage models from DTU and Fraunhofer IWES. Three turbines of different sizes (IEA 15MW, DTU 10MW and NREL 5MW) and one coating material has been considered. Reference documentation containing more details will be made available soon. Contents- *.png: Figures of the atlas layers- *.nc: Final atlas files saved in netCDF files- extraction.py: Simple python script to extract single point or polygon from the *.nc files.
