A high-resolution crossover landscape in Drosophila santomea reveals rapid and concerted evolution of multiple properties of crossing-over control

Whole-genome, short-read sequencing of 17 D. santomea strains used in crosses to generate a high-resolution meiotic crossover recombination map. Meiotic recombination is a fundamental process in sexually reproducing species that (1) ensures proper chromosome segregation during gamete formation, and (2) generates new allelic combinations, hence enhancing adaptation.
