Tarup Recycling Project 1985: User Experiences

The survey examines the experiences of people who took part in the recycling project which was carried out in Tarup (the north-western part of the municipality of Odense) in the period 1 October, 1984 to 1 April, 1985. A total of 1717 households were invited to take part in the project. 1125 households took part in the 'major' project, which included the sorting out of waste food as well as paper and bottles for recycling. The remaining 592 households took part in the 'minor' project, which only included the sorting out of paper and bottles. #The purpose of the project was to examine: #1) The households' experiences in connection with the recycling # project. #2) How much time, care, or space, etc. the households are willing # to expend on such a project. #3) The possibilities and consequences of a sorting out procedure # for waste material according to the principles tested in the # recycling project. #4) Whether the project is considered to be an improvement or # a deterioration of the service offered by the Department of # Sanitation
