We investigated A. glutinosa response when infected by Phytophthora alni sp alni, according to the presence of Frankia alni ACN14a in root tissues after nodulation. Our objective was to test if nodulated plants have increased responsiveness of their immune systems in response to P. alni infection. For this purpose, global comparative transcriptomic analyses (RNA-seq) were first performed between A. glutinosa plants infected with P. alni, nodulated or not with F. alni, including analyses of roots and leaves.
