During the R/V METEOR expedition M157 to the Benguela Upwelling System (BUS) off the coast of Namibia we used a multidisciplinary approach to examine relationships between physical forcing, process rates, and microbial activities. This data set contains the metagenomic sequencing reads generated from water and sediment samples collected using 10L free-flow bottles attached to a rosette water sampler or a sediment multi-corer (MUC), respectively.
