资源简介:
Saccharibacillus sacchari is interesting biotechnologically for two reasons. First, it was isolated from the sap of sugar cane, but its effect on the host plant is unknown. Second, it degrades cellulose and it is reported to have xylanase activity, so it may be a source of enzymes for cellulose and hemicellulose degradation. Several other species from the family Paenibacillaceae are being sequenced, so the S. sacchari sequence can be used for comparative genomics of this family.
