Rosa wichuraiana, a founder genotype in domestication of modern rose, is constructed. This assembly provides fundamental genomic resources for rose biology and breeding trials, thus via comparative approaches should shed light on the disentangling the molecular genetic bases for important ornamental trait during rose origin and domestication.
