These are the two datasets accompanying the paper 'U.S. Copyright Termination Notices 1977-2020: Introducing New Datasets', accepted for publication in the <i>Journal of Empirical Legal Studies</i>. <br><b>titles_203</b> is a set of all titles subject to termination notices under § 203 of the U.S. Copyright Act (which relates to post-1978 grants of copyright). It also includes notices contesting those termination notices (filed by record labels, publishers, etc). and notices withdrawing those termination notices. <br><b>titles_304</b> is a set of all titles subject to termination notices under § 304 of the U.S. Copyright Act (which relates to pre-1978 grants of copyright). It also includes notices contesting those termination notices (filed by record labels, publishers, etc). and notices withdrawing those termination notices.<br>The work was supported by an Australian Government Research Training Program (RTP) Scholarship, the Monash University Graduate Excellence Scholarship, and a Monash University Faculty of Law Top-Up Scholarship, funded by an ARC Future Fellowship provided to Associate Professor Rebecca Giblin (FT170100011).<br>
