Semi-structured text generation is a non-trivial problem. Despite numerous advancements in natural language generation over the past year, existing methods still struggle to generate structured, context-aware and commonsense-aware text, even with the development of neural models trained on large-scale datasets. Additionally, how to evaluate the quality of generated text remains an open question. To address these issues, we introduce RecipeNLG, a novel cooking recipe dataset. We discuss the data collection process and the relationship between semi-structured text and cooking recipes. We employ this dataset to tackle the problem of recipe generation. Finally, we utilize multiple metrics to evaluate the generated recipes.
