This article discusses the role and importance of enzymes in metabolic processes of living organisms. The chemical nature of enzymes, their mechanisms of action, and their role in accelerating metabolic reactions are analyzed. In addition, factors affecting enzyme activity and their practical significance in medicine and biotechnology are examined.
