Report, Archaeological Field Reconnaissance, Brookville Resevoir: Waterfowl Marsh, Franklin County, Indiana

An archaeological reconnaissance of two proposed waterfowl marshes to be constructed within the controlled flood parameters of the Brookville Reservoir in Franklin and Union Counties was performed on November 26, 29, and 30, 1980, by the Archaeological resource Management Service of Ball State University. Two prehistoric and two historic sites were detected within the Fairfield and Allys Creek Marsh Area respectively; however, none were thought to meet national register criteria for preservation or protection. It was recommended that the projects be allowed to processed as planned within the understanding that further subsurface remains could exist, and that if such undetected resource are discovered through any source additional work would be required.
