Tetravalent and Pentavalent Uranium Acetylide Complexes Prepared by Oxidative Functionalization with CuCCPh

Oxidation of (C5Me5)2U(NPh2)(THF) and (C5Me5)2U(N-2,6-iPr2-C6H3)(THF) with CuCCPh yields the corresponding UIV and UV acetylide complexes (C5Me5)2U(NPh2)(CCPh) and (C5Me5)2U(N-2,6-iPr2-C6H3)(CCPh), respectively. The complexes were characterized using a combination of 1H NMR, X-ray crystallography, UV−visible−near-IR spectroscopy, and cyclic voltammetry.
