A record of granite floor slabs within the 19th-century market building was made prior to their removal and enlargement of an internal ramp. The slabs overlaid a brick drain that formed part of a wider drainage run; the drain was set into a contemporary levelling deposit. An earlier deposit was identified but was not impacted upon by the works.
