资源简介:
We hypothesize that decreased habitat size exacerbates the asymmetry of evolutionary potential between antagonistically coevolving partners, with greater probability of extinction. This hypothesis was experimentally tested using a model-bacterium-phage system. Data file "habitat.size.extinction-phage.persistence" gives frequency of phage persistence in three types of habitats. Data file "habitat.size.extinction-phage.infectivity" gives the infectivity range of persistent phage populations. Data file "habitat.size.extinction-bacterial.density" gives density of bacterial populations coevolving with phages.
