16S rRNA sequencing of the gut microbiome of TNBS mice treated with Indole-3-carbinol

16S rRNA sequencing of the gut microbiome was performed on experimental groups to determine the microbial profiles of TNBS-induced colitis mice and those treated with a natural compound, Indole-3-carbinol. Experimental groups consisted of Vehicle, TNBS+Vehicle , and TNBS+I3C mice. Genomic DNA was isolated from colonic flushes from each group (n=3 per group) and sequencing performed on the V3-V4 16S rRNA regions using Illumina MiSeq platform to determine gut microbial profiles.
