The Department of General and Molecular Botany, Ruhr University Bochum is sequencing the Sordaria macrospora wild type strain k-hell genome using whole genome shotgun (WGS) sequencing. The sequence was assembled with the Velvet assembler and an automated annotation was performed to predict open reading frames. Manual annotation will be performed by the Sordaria community that comprises about 10 groups in Germany, France, the UK, and the USA.
