Heat stress can potentially have substantial impact on human health and livestock welfare and productivity. However, the molecular mechanisms underlying responses to heat stress remain poorly understood. Therefore, we explored the epigenetic and transcriptional alterations induced by heat stress in the liver of rats, by integrating assay for transpose accessible chromatin sequencing (ATAC-seq), RNA sequencing (RNA-seq), and whole-genome bisulfite sequencing (WGBS) information generated before and after heat stress. The raw data of RNA-seq has been released in the SRA database with the project number PRJNA589869.
