Stemness of p57+ cells in intestinal tumors

p57 is specifically expressed in normal tissue stem cells, and is required for the maintenance of their quiescence and stemness. To investigate the relevance of p57 as a stem cell marker in intestinal tumors, we performed single-cell RNA-seq analysis on p57-Venus+ and p57-Venus- cells isolated from primary tumor tissues by using CEL-seq2 platform. This analysis showed that p57+ cells manifest prominently higher stemness compared to the others.
