资源简介:
Soil samples from 22 prehistoric sites in the Carlota Mine project in southeast Arizona were
examined for pollen, phytolith, or macrofloral remains. The 22 prehistoric sites represent pre-
Classic Hohokam and Classic period Salado occupations of the area. Pollen, phytolith, and
macrofloral analyses are used to provide information concerning cultivated and native plant
resources utilized by the various occupants of these sites, as well as possible limited information concerning Pre-Classic period socio-political-ideological systems and Classic Salado culture levels of organization and trade. Pollen and flotation samples were routinely collected from the floor and/or floor fill as scrape or composite samples in an effort to provide consistent sampling for interpretation of the subsistence records and records of activities involving other uses of plants.
