Searching for novel thermostable beta-galactosidases in As Burgas hot spring water. As Burgas beta-gals

A novel thermostable beta-galactosidase was isolated from As Burgas hot spring water through functional screening of a plasmid metagenomic library. The enzyme displayed high optimal temperature, neutral optimal pH and high rate of transgalactosilation.
