PhIP-seq analysis of autoantibody response in multiple sclerosis

The study aimed to identify autoantigens that drive the production of autoantibodies by B cells in multiple sclerosis. The analysis was conducted using phage immunoprecipitation sequencing (PhIP-Seq). The designed expression library consisted of 12,000 44-mer peptides derived from a panel of 944 putative autoantigenic human proteins. Synthetic fragments encoding the peptides were cloned in frame with the p3 coat protein of the fd bacteriophage.
