Initial data produced using the Atmosphere-Ocean General Circulation Model IPSL-CM5A-LR (Dufresne et al., 2013) at ∼1.9° latitude and 3.75° longitude spatial resolution to run two global climate simulations, one representing a typical MIS 3 stadial (cold) and the other a typical MIS 3 interstadial (warm). The boundary conditions are the same for both simulations and are described in Woillez et al. (2014), Le Mézo et al. (2017) and Lézine et al. (2023). Astronomical forcing (precession, obliquity, eccentricity) is set with values for 46 kyr BP.
Data were downscaled using a General Additive Model (Vrac et al., 2007, Latombe et al. 2017) obtaining temperature and precipitation data at a spatial scale of ~15 x 15 km .
Cold model data are identified as M3I46F02 and warm model data are identified as MS3I46K2.
