Metagenomic recovery of two distinct comammox Nitrospira from the terrestrial subsurface. Rifle comammox

In this study, we used a genome-centric approach to recover two high-quality draft genome sequences of novel comammox Nitrospira from the Rifle sampling site, an aquifer adjacent to the Colorado River. We applied a comparative genomic approach to analyse the two novel comammox genomes from the terrestrial subsurface in comparison to other sublineage II Nitrospira species, including canonical nitrite-oxidising and comammox organisms.
