Whole-genome sequencing of environmental Brucella isolates from landfill plastic waste
收藏资源简介:
Two environmental isolates of the genus Brucella (designated X and Y) were recovered from low-density polyethylene-rich landfill material in Bangladesh and subjected to whole-genome sequencing. The aim of this study was to characterize the genomic features of these isolates and to compare them with known Brucella reference strains to evaluate their taxonomic placement and potential metabolic adaptations. Genomic DNA was sequenced using Oxford Nanopore long-read technology, followed by assembly and polishing with Flye, Racon, and Medaka. The assembled genomes contribute to the growing body of data on environmental Brucella species and provide insight into possible genetic factors linked to survival in plastic-associated or polymer-contaminated habitats.
