Sea and riverside protection according to the SFG

Pursuant to the Lake and Riverside Act of 6 June 1982 (See- und Flussufergesetz, SFG; BSG 704.1) are to make the shores of the five large Bernese lakes and along the Aare accessible to the general public and to preserve or restore valuable shore landscapes. 91 municipalities in the Canton of Bern are affected by the SFG. These have an almost complete shore protection plan consisting of the shore protection plan, the overbuilding regulations and the implementation program. The bank protection plan defines the bank protection zone, the bank path and generally usable open spaces for recreation and sport. The implementation program describes measures that are still being implemented by the municipality in connection with the riverbank protection planning. The geoproduct "Sea and riverside protection according to the SFG" includes the information known to the civil engineering office of the Canton of Bern on the one hand from the riverside protection planning of the municipalities and on the other hand with regard to the status of the realization of the riverside paths and open spaces. The realized riverside paths and open spaces are entitled to a cantonal contribution to the maintenance.
