TRENDS IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE MORTGAGE LENDING MARKET AND ITS IMPACT ON THE LEVEL OF HOUSING PROVISION FOR THE POPULATION

This article analyzes the development of the mortgage lending market and its impact on housing provision for the population. The study examines recent trends in the development of the mortgage market in Uzbekistan, the volume of mortgage loans issued by commercial banks, housing market activity, and the role of government housing programs. According to statistical data, the total volume of mortgage loans issued in Uzbekistan reached 17.1 trillion soums in 2024, demonstrating growth compared to the previous year. In addition, more than 58 thousand citizens obtained housing through mortgage loans. In 2025, the mortgage market continued to expand, and during the first nine months of the year more than 15 trillion soums of mortgage loans were issued, while the number of borrowers exceeded 50 thousand.
