Transcriptomic response characterized by 3'RNA-seq of B16-F1 melanomas upon short-term treatment with stearoyl-coA desaturase inhibitor A939572 in vivo

We found that expression of stearoyl-coA desaturase is driven by the melanocyte lineage transcription factor and oncogene MITF. To explore the effect of pharmacological inhibition of stearoyl-coA desaturase we treated C57BL/6 mice bearing established B16-F1 MITFhigh melanomas with a highly selective inhibitor of stearoyl-coA desaturase (A939572) for five consecutive days. We characterized the transcriptomic response by 3'RNA-seq and observed changes consistent with reduced proliferation and enhanced inflammation.
