This dataset contains viral metagenomic sequencing clean reads data derived from human stool samples. It comprises 6 DNA samples and 6 RNA samples, categorized into two groups: PS-positive and Viral-like particles (VLPs). The DNA samples labeled D1_PS to D6_PS are part of the PS-positive group, while samples labeled D1 to D6 represent the VLPs group. In the RNA category, samples labeled A1_PS to A6_PS belong to the PS-positive group, and samples labeled A1 to A6 correspond to the VLPs RNA dataset.This metagenomic dataset provides a comprehensive profile of human stool enveloped viruses and extracellular VLP-encapsulated nonenveloped viruses. We isolated Enveloped particles from human stool extracellular VLPs using a Phosphatidylserine (PS) affinity kit. Our viral metagenomics analysis revealed significant variations in virome composition and abundance between the PS-positive and VLPs viromes. These findings enhance our understanding of: (1) ecological interactions between enveloped viruses (EnVs) and extracellular vesicles (EVs); (2) PS-mediated environmental persistence mechanisms; and (3) risk assessment frameworks for enteric viral transmission.
