Logistische Metabolismen / Logistical Metabolisms

Für die Verwandlung von Tieren in Objekte spielen sowohl logistische Prozesse als auch Stoffwechselprozesse eine wichtige Rolle. In diesem Text folgen wir Tieren auf ihren Wegen in Zoos und naturkundliche Sammlungen und beschäftigen uns mit dem Ineinandergreifen dieser beiden Kreislaufsysteme. Sie zeigen, dass tierische Verwandlungen selbst dort stattfinden, wo wir sie am wenigsten vermuten. Tiere als Objekte? ist eine Online-Publikation von Wissenschaftler:innen des Museums für Naturkunde Berlin, des Berliner Zoos und der Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, herausgegeben von Ina Heumann und Tahani Nadim. Die Publikation ist Teil des vom BMBF-geförderten Forschungsprojekts "Tiere als Objekte. Zoologische Gärten und Naturkundemuseum in Berlin, 1810 bis 2020". Logistics and metabolisms play an important role in the transformations of animals into objects. In this theme, we explore some of their intersections and follow animals on their ways into zoos and natural history collections. Logistics and metabolisms are flows of matter that diverge and relate and they contain animal transformations when we least expect them. Animals as Objects? is an online publication by researchers from the Museum für Naturkunde Berlin, the Zoo Berlin, and the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, edited by Ina Heumann and Tahani Nadim.
