Unlocking the Secrets of Scenic Beauty: A Quantitative Analysis of Object Variety and Connections in Scenic Images

Description of the data and file structure This repository contains the code and data for the paper "Understanding the Impact of Object Diversity and Connectivity on Scenic Appeal: A Quantitative Analysis," published in the Journal of the Royal Society Interface. Code: The codebase developed in this study includes scripts for data downloading, processing, and implementing two linear mixed-effects (LME) regression models for data analysis. Dataset: Scenicness scores for the Geograph photographs were obtained from the Scenic-Or-Not project, including three randomly selected batches of subsets. Three batches of photograph IDs, each containing 10,000 randomly selected records from the Scenic-Or-Not dataset, are available for download from the Geograph website.
