Diurnal variation of cellullar populations in mouse tongue epithelium

We employed single-cell sequencing using 10x Genomics scRNA-seq to investigate circadian variations in cellular populations within the mouse tongue epithelium. This study demonstrates that circadian clock-regulated cell divisions lead to diurnal fluctuations in the population of type II taste cells in the tongues of nocturnal animals like mice. Overall design: Tongue epithelial cells were isolated from male B57BL/6 mice at two distinct circadian time points (ZT0 and ZT12) and analyzed via scRNA-seq.
