Gut microbiome of Australian Native marsupials

We used 16S rRNA gene sequencing to characterise and compare the faecal bacterial communities of six species of Australian marsupials from captive or wild origins over a large temporal and spatial scale. three macropods - Macropus giganteus (Eastern grey kangaroo, EGK); Wallabia bicolor (black swamp wallaby, BSW); Notamacropus rufogriseus (red-necked wallaby, RNW or Bennett's wallaby in Tasmania), two possums - Trichosurus vulpeca (brushtail possum, BTP); Pseudocheirus peregrinus (ringtail possum, RTP); and one wombat - Vombatus ursinus (Bare nosed wombat, BNW). Reverse reads were discarded - only forwards reads available
