When received by the Chief Seretary's Office, each address was given a date of registration and a registration number. Other information recorded was: the date and author of the motion put to the Legislative Council, the name of the person presenting the address to the Legislative Council, the page upon which the address was recorded in Votes and Proceedings of the Legislative Council, the subject of the address, to whom the address was referred by the Chief Secretary and how it was finally disposed of by the Chief Secretary.
