VPRS 18436 Register of Burials

This series comprises the register of burials for Creswick Cemetery (VA 5208). All Victorian Cemeteries Acts required cemeteries to keep registers of burials.Information recorded for each burial may include:- register number;- name of deceased;- age of deceased;- late address;- rank or occupation;- denomination (within cemetery grounds);- section (within cemetery grounds);- number of grave;- private (family paid for both burial and plot) or common (family paid for burial but not plot);- size;- date of burial;- cause of death;- fees paid;- remarks.This reegister was also used to record details about plot reservations purchased prior to a burial.
