In 2020, goods valued at over 1.5 trillion U.S. dollars were transported by ships between the United States (U.S.) and its trading partners. That year, Asia was the biggest trading partner of the U.S., accounting for nearly 57 percent of all the waterborne commerce traded by the U.S.
