Detergent exposure induces epithelial barrier dysfunction and eosinophilic inflammation in the esophagus

To investigate the effects of the common household detergent Sodium Dodecyl Sulfate (SDS) on the esophagus we provided mice with 0.5% SDS in their drinking water for 14 days and assessed the effects by various methods including RNA-Seq of whole esophagus homogenates. Comparative gene expression profiling analysis using data obtained from RNA-seq of whole mouse esophagus samples comparing mice provided 0.5% SDS in drinking water for 2 weeks(n=3) vs. untreated water controls (n=5)
