The published dataset is a high-resolution 3D seismic property model. The model explicitly captures meter-scale facies heterogeneity representing the typical near-surface geology of desert carbonate strata. The model is provided in 32-bit SEG-Y format, ready for direct use in seismic modeling and simulation software. The model dimensions are ~4 km x 4 km x 155 deep, with a fine grid resolution of 3 m x 3 m x 0.3 m (X,Y,Z).The model includes VP (m/s), VS (m/s), and density (g/cc). The model is constructed based on extensive Late Jurassic outcrop and near-surface core data.
This model accurately replicates complex facies architecture and petrophysical variations observed in the shallow subsurface of the Arabian Desert.
This resource is essential for forward modeling studies and testing advanced acquisition/processing methods designed to mitigate seismic data degradation caused by strong wavefield scattering from shallow geological heterogeneities.
