Data and scripts for: Occupancy modelling of sympatric owl species (Athene superciliaris and Otus rutilus) in Western Madagascar using Passive Acoustic Monitoring

This dataset accompanies the bachelor thesis "Occupancy Modellierung zweier sympatrischer Eulenarten, Athene superciliaris und Otus rutilus, in West-Madagaskar mittels Passive Acoustic Monitoring" (University of Cologne, 2026). Contents:- Python scripts for audio preprocessing and data preparation- R scripts for occupancy modelling with the unmarked package- BirdNET classifier (TensorFlow Lite format) trained for owl call detection- Detection results and occupancy matrices The raw audio data are available via the EcoSounds Madagascar project on Arbimon (https://arbimon.org).
