This file contains the multi-country custom dataset used for the article "Introducing the Epistemic Vulnerability Index: A Comparative Study of the Health of News Environments in 20 Western Democracies." It contains the following variables: country (iso-2c), country name, average frequency of exposure to disinformation, percentage of citizens disoriented, average distrust towards professional news media, average frequency of exposure to disinformation (Z-standardized), percentage of citizens disoriented (Z-standardized), average distrust towards professional news media (Z-standardized), vote share of left-wing populists, vote share of right-wing populists, vote share of all populists, effective number of parties, ideological polarization, affective polarization, PBS daily audience size, audience polarization (cross-platform), audience duplication (cross-platform), parallelism in newspapers, parallelism in television, and epistemic vulnerability index country scores.
