Effect of crab effluent on lobster interactions

We exposed two different size classes of juvenile lobsters (<i>Homarus americanus</i>) to either control seawater or seawater with green crab (<i>Carcinus maenas</i>) effluent. This was done in arenas in the lab, with one shelter available and two lobsters in the tank at once. The process was recorded with time-lapse photographs (0.5s) and then aggression and shelter use were quantified. You can read the manuscript for additional detail.
