The budding yeast, Saccharomyces cerevisiae is a remarkably adaptable organism, inhabiting a broad range of environments. Sequencing of natural variant strains isolated globally has revealed considerable genetic diversity within the species. Here, we describe the construction and characterization of CYClones (Collaborative Yeast Cross clones), a library of 11,392 fully-genotyped segregants from a multiparent funnel cross utilizing eight genetically diverse parent strains.
