RNA-Seq analysis of gene expression in Acidothiobacillus thiooxidans

RNA-Seq analysis was conducted to compare the gene expression profiles of Acidothiobacillus thiooxidans grown on different sulfur sources: elemental sulfur and thiosulfate. Goal of this work is to understand the regulation of gene expression during growth on different sulfur sources and to identify marker enzymes. This work is pertinent for the understanding of sulfur metabolism of bacteria in mining ecosystems.
