Controllable all-optical manipulation of 2D photoacoustic actuators on van der Waals interfaces

we report the precise motion control of VSe2 nanosheets on sapphire under femtosecond pulsed laser irradiation, including translation, rotation, and beam center trapping. We observe photoacoustic waves using a highly sensitive microcavity ultrasonic probe. Through Raman spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy (TEM), atomic force microscopy (AFM) and other characterization methods, we fully demonstrate the nondestructive characteristics of the optical manipulation, and propose that the laser intensity distribution and the contact state between the material and the substrate are the key factors affecting controllable manipulation. Using femtosecond lasers, we can drive nanosheets to move freely in specific complex environments. Combined with the strategy of program control, we are able to achieve intelligent optical manipulation. This study highlights the potential of optical manipulation in PIC applications.
