Overreliance on AI? Continuance Acceptance Among Students

Using the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and Partial Least Squares (PLS) on a sample of 250 students, this study explores the factors influencing students' ongoing acceptance of AI. The findings show that while perceived usefulness is influenced by perceived ease of use, students' attitudes and intentions are primarily shaped by usefulness and social influence, which leads to continued usage. Attitude is not directly and significantly impacted by perceived ease of use. While cautioning against over-reliance that could jeopardize independent learning, the findings highlight the significance of academic usefulness and community impact as important motivators.
