UTLS-OZONE (Upper Troposphere Lower Stratosphere) is a NERC thematic program aimed at investigating the processes determining the composition and structure of the upper troposphere and lower stratosphere. The particular emphasis is on those processes determining the distribution of ozone and the subsequent implications for the climate system.
The thematic program funds a number of projects in UK research groups. The projects are relatively diverse in nature: involving field observations, model studies, data analysis, and laboratory kinetic studies.
The thematic program began in 1998 and will last for 5 years.
